Tom Lane set up Rockingham Fender Seats over 25 years ago, to manufacture bespoke fireside seats, after being inspired by his own original Edwardian fender seat.
Having farmed at Grange Farm, Thorney, UK, for over 50 years it seemed only natural to convert the existing barns and pig sty’s into workshops where the fender seats could be carefully constructed. However, in February 2010 a decision was taken to move the workshops to central Peterborough to more modern facilities with better transport access.
Unfortunately Tom passed away in 2015 but Martin Cowling, who has worked crafting fenders at Rockingham Fender Seats for many years, is now running and growing the business.
Rockingham Fender Seats can make their club fenders in an enormous range of styles and materials, customers may choose and combine every detail.
